Abstract

The Gotong Royong Cooperative is expected to play a major role in increasing economic activity in Perdana Village. This study aimed to determine how the level of the role of cooperatives in increasing the economic activity of farmers in Perdana Village, Kembang Janggut Sub-district. This research was conducted from March to May 2021 in Perdana Village, Kembang Janggut Sub-district, Kutai Kartanegara Regency. The method of determining the location is carried out by purposive sampling (deliberate), measuring data using a Likert scale through several question items that have been arranged in a questionnaire and given a score, with a total of 20 respondents. The results of this study indicate that the role of the oil palm Gotong Royong Cooperative to farmers in Perdana Village shows a very instrumental role in determining the economic activity of farmers, to prosper all its members. There needs to be more awareness among fellow members, both active and not in Gotong Royong Cooperative, achieving common welfare as members and increasing farmers' economic activity through this cooperative.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the factors forming the motivation of farmers in the use of coastal land for coconut plantations, to examine the level of motivation of farmers in the use of coastal land for coconut plantations, to examine the relationship between motivational forming factors and the level of motivation of farmers in the use of coastal land for coconut plantations. The research location is in Karimunjawa Sub-district with the consideration that sub-district is one of the sub-districts in the Jepara Regency which has the largest coconut plantation area and the largest yields. The sampling technique used is the Census Data analysis using Spearman rank. The results showed that the motivation-forming factors were age 37 to 43 years, elementary formal education, nonformal education (X1) in the rare category, a land area (X2) less than 0.5 ha, the majority of farmers' income (X3) is less than 2.000.000 IDR, cosmopolitan (X4) 1 to 2 times, the role of extension workers (X5) in the category of quite a role, family support (X6) in the supporting category, the role of community leaders (X7) in the role category and price assurance (X8) in the easy category. The level of motivation of farmers in the use of coastal land for coconut plantations (Y) includes existence motivation (Y1) in the want category, relatedness motivation (Y2) in the unwilling category and growth motivation (Y3) in the less wanted category. There is no significant relationship between X1, X2, X4, X5, X6, X7 and X8 on the Y variable, while only X3 has a significant relationship to the Y variable.

Abstract

Cyber extension is a form of internet-based information system that expected to facilitate an access of information about the development of innovation in agriculture. This study aims to determine the relationship between variables which affect the success of the information system by DeLone and McLean in the information system of cyber extension in Wonogiri Regency. The basic method used is quantitative with survey techniques. The research location is in Wonogiri Regency. The sample was selected using a non-probability sampling technique with purposive sampling. The samples taken by 66 agricultural extension officers that include in 10 sub-district of Wonogiri Regency. Data collected by using questionnaires, interviews and documentation. Data analysis performed using structural equation modeling based on partial least square. The results of this study are the system quality has an effect on use, system quality has no effect on user satisfaction, information quality has no effect on use, information quality has an effect on user satisfaction, use has no effect on user satisfaction, user satisfaction has no effect on use, use has no effect on the individual impact and user satisfaction has an effect on the individual impact. The information quality on the cyber extension website is related to the success of the cyber extension system. The information quality will help increase the individual impact on the users of the cyber extension website.

Abstract

Garlic cultivation is one of the high-value farming development activities. One of the garlic-producing areas in Karanganyar Regency is Segorogunung Village. Farmers in Segorogunung Village in garlic farming have partnered with CV Berkat Putih Abadi and carried out the first harvest in 2019 after 20 years of vacuum. This study aims to (1) examine the decision-making of farmers in establishing partnerships; (2) analyzing the factors that influence farmers in establishing partnerships; (3) analyzing the factors that influence farmers' decision-making in establishing partnerships. The basic research method used is quantitative with survei techniques. The location selection was purposively in Segorogunung Village, Karanganyar Regency. A sampling of 66 respondent farmers was carried out using the proportional random sampling technique. Data analysis used logistic regression test with IBM Statistic 22 application. The results showed that: (1) age factors, farm area, income, formal education, non-formal education, economic environment, and social environment affect farmers' decisions in establishing partnerships; (2) factors in the form of age, non-formal education, economic environment, and social environment are included in the high category; income and formal education are in a low category, and the area of farming land is included in the very low category; (3) simultaneously the independent variables have a significant effect on the dependent variable, while partially the variables of age, economic environment, and social environment on farmer’s decisions, while the variables of farming land area, income, formal education, and non-formal education have no significant effect on farmers' decisions in establishing partnerships.

Abstract

The aims of the study is to find out the sustainable livelihood strategy of asset-based communities in Kedungrandu Village, Patikraja Sub-district, Banyumas Regency. This research uses quantitative descriptive methods. The population in this study is a fragrant lemongrass farmer from Kedungrandu Village, with a total of 40 people. The data collection method uses the census method of 40 fragrant lemongrass farmers. Data analysis uses descriptive statistics. The results showed that the livelihood strategy of fragrant lemongrass farmers includes three strategies: intensification/extensification, diversification and migration. The livelihood strategy implemented by most of their farmers depends on agricultural activities (47.5%), some depend on livestock, fisheries, services, trade and employee activities or diversification (27.5%) and a small percentage (25%) depends on migration activities. The value of the level of livelihood capital of fragrant lemongrass farmers in Kedungrandu Village, namely human capital, natural capital, physical capital, financial capital and social capital is classified as a moderate level of sustainability. Therefore, efforts are needed to improve the quality of livelihood capital of fragrant lemongrass farmers to the maximum at a high level of sustainability.

Abstract

Temanggung Regency has 20 sub-districts and many excellent potentials, including rice, robusta coffee, sugar palm, vanilla and cloves. This substantial potential for development to increase business efficiency, productivity, income and welfare through farming, likewise with agricultural extension activities which are the spearhead of the learning process to improve the welfare of farmers. It is necessary to identify potential areas in extension activities to develop effective and targeted extension programs. For this reason, this study aims to identify the potential of agricultural commodities in Jumo Sub-district, Temanggung Regency using a participatory rural appraisal approach can facilitate the exchange of information between stakeholders to work together in planning the right program. In addition, through location quation (LQ) analysis, it is found that the potential agricultural commodity in Jumo Sub-district is rice for the food crop subsector. In the plantation subsector, there is robusta coffee. It is hoped that the superior commodities of Jumo Sub-district can be further improved by maximizing farming business and can be a reference in making extension programs in Jumo Sub-district, Temanggung Regency.

Abstract

Digital marketing innovation makes entrepreneurs try to implement product marketing through the internet. Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) actors as agricultural business actors are expected to improve the quality of human resources and the quality of their products so that marketing can be managed independently and increase the product's selling value. This research discusses the determination of strategies for empowering MSME actors to take advantage of digital technology through internet-based inbound marketing. The purpose of the study was to formulate an alternative strategy for empowering MSMEs cashew nuts in the Giri Jaya Cashew Cluster in conducting inbound marketing. This research is a type of case study research. The basic research method used is a qualitative descriptive method. The research location is Tanjungsari Village, Jatisrono Sub-district, in the Giri Jaya Mete Cluster. Research informants are the secretary of FEDEP (Forum for Economic Development and Employment Promotion), field extension agents for Cooperatives, MSMEs, Industry and Trade, Head of Community Empowerment Division of the Jatisrono Sub-district Government and community entrepreneurs of MSMEs cashew nut products. The data analysis technique used is through three stages of determining informants, namely the input stage (environmental analysis and IFAS-EFAS analysis), the matching stage (SWOT matrix analysis) and decision making (QSPM matrix analysis). Cashew nut MSMEs in Jatisrono Sub-district are in quadrant I position, meaning that cashew nut MSMEs have a lot of internal strength and many opportunities from outside. The strategy that must be applied in this condition is to support an aggressive growth policy (growth oriented strategy). The right alternative strategy is to combine aspects of digital marketing such as content marketing, blogs, search engine optimization, social media marketing and branding with community empowerment such as training, demonstrations and mentoring.

Abstract

Tourism development is currently directed towards sustainable tourism development. Domestic tourist visits to tourist villages are still low due to the lack of promotion of tourist villages due to budget constraints and local people themselves who do not understand the existence of tourist villages. One of the tourism concepts that can be applied to utilize local communities in the area is to introduce the concept of community-based tourism (CBT). This study aims to analyze the economic, social, cultural, environmental and political aspects which are the dimensions of CBT in the development of Sumberbulu Tourism Village. The basic research method used qualitative methods through a descriptive analysis approach. The determination of the research location was carried out intentionally in the Sumberbulu Tourism Village, Karanganyar Regency. The informants used in this study were purposive and snowball. Validation of data with source triangulation techniques and triangulation techniques. Data analysis used interactive data analysis. The results of the study show that the dimensions of CBT applied by the Sumberbulu Tourism Village include economic, social, cultural, environmental and political dimensions. The economic dimension applied is in the form of development funds, job creation, income generation and joint ventures. The social dimensions applied are in the form of involving members in every aspect, developing community pride, developing a quality of life and a fair distribution of roles, strengthening organizations, and authorizing communities. The cultural dimension applied is in the form of respecting and maintaining cultural uniqueness, helping to develop learning about cultural exchange, respecting cultural differences and human dignity. The environmental dimension applied is in the form of a carrying capacity area, ensuring environmental sustainability. The political dimension applied is in the form of institutional consolidation, increasing participation, guaranteeing rights in natural resource management.
